Let us agree with this: If God ever existed, He in all His cognition, created people with so called unnatural sexual preferences. It means that God wants some people to be that way.
Some religious people call them insane but as we know that sanity is a relative word. An insane person, is a sane person caught in the insane world. Similarly, the so called normal sexual preference may be abnormal for many people.Ask gays.
According to an estimate, 5% of the population can have this so-called unnatural preference. We as a society don't need to bother, unless these so called abnormal people, start bothering someone amongst us.
And what might be sinful to a religious person, may not be crime for a state. But I am really bothered when I see religious leaders of many religions coming openly against Gayness, and they have a right to do so as India is a democratic country and it allows everyone, irrespective of one's religion (or lack of it) to speak for or against anything. But our government is surely not bound to be cowed down by them. It should do what it is supposed to do. Take a secular, democratic and logical stand and take the decision.
And about clerics of different religions, I have this question for them. Why were they so coy in coming against people, who openly use their religion to kill hundreds of people. Or does their religion endorse these killings.
Regarding Deobandis, they have fatwas ready against Gays, but they forget that Taliban, who were their followers, misused their religion to kill many and did that so shamelessly. And Taliban were patrons of Bacha, a pedophile gay practice rampant in Islamic world.
